CapitalG, founded in 2013 as Google Capital, is Alphabet's independent growth fund, writing large checks into companies that have already found product-market fit and pairing them with access to Google's technical and go-to-market talent. It is downstream capital for a venture portfolio — the kind of investor that leads the Series D-F rounds your winners graduate into.
