Overview
PitchBook, a Morningstar company, is the workhorse database for private capital markets, covering companies, deals, valuations, investors, funds, and LPs. For a venture firm it does triple duty: sourcing and market research on companies, comps and round data during deal work, and fund benchmarking plus LP intelligence when raising. Its Excel plugin and profiles are baked into most investment memos, and its coverage of round terms and post-money valuations is among the deepest available.
