Discount

A discount gives a SAFE or note holder the right to convert at a reduced price relative to the next round, typically 10-25% off. It rewards early risk when the round prices below the cap or when there is no cap at all. When an instrument has both a cap and a discount, the investor converts at whichever produces the better price for them.
