Fund Structure
Management Fee
The management fee is an annual charge, commonly around 2% of committed capital during the investment period, that funds the firm's salaries and operations. It typically steps down after the investment period, either to a lower rate or to a percentage of invested capital. Unlike carried interest, the fee is paid regardless of performance — which is why LPs watch fee structure closely on smaller funds where fees barely cover a team.
